The float is really starting to take shape.  In the coming weeks, we will break out the cans of Great Stuff, rolls of foam and paint.  Thank you everyone for all of your hard work.

Where to begin?

David from Innovative Design Concepts offers float building tips.
A rose out of foam is still a rose.
Several members of the float committee have been attending "float school".  This is a free service offered by various businesses that specialize in events and float construction.  We have been busy learning about glitter, glue, great stuff, pencil rod,  foam, cutting foam, painting foam and cleaning up foam.  Did you know that a spray bottle of water works miracles when you are trying to clean up tiny foam particles that get everywhere when you are carving?

We have been taking diligent notes, pictures and asking many questions.  Soon, we will be putting our knowledge to work as we tackle the tree, roots, flowers, hundreds of leaves, apples, and so on.  We are in the process of organizing a work plan so that we can make the best use of time.  Stay tuned for more information to come...
