"The aerial picture of Millcreek Road (formerly 3500 South) was taken by my uncle.  It shows my childhood home (home of John and Cloie Burbidge) with the barn in the back and the homes of my grandparents, Jesse and Sarah Burbidge, (the tallest home in the picture built in 1917 when they moved here from Kamas) and other relatives.   Our home is at the top of the road leading down to what we called "the hollow," but current residents call "The Dell."  The road at the top of the picture is 3300 South.  What is now Evergreen Avenue is barely visible as a trail (leading up from the bend in the road at the far left of the picture).  We had lots of fields to play in, had horses to ride, fresh milk and butter from the cows, delicious fruits and vegetables from our garden and never had to lock our doors.  At one time, my father, my grandfather, and my aunt Ora all worked at Baldwin Radio.  After my parents died in 1996, we sold the home to the Hammonds where they built their lovely home.   My grandparent's home was converted to a duplex which Herb Heidrich owns.  I still live in and love East Mill Creek.  It is a beautiful area and all the people are great.

My father helped build the Motor-Vu Theater on 3300 South (which some old-timers may remember).  It was a fun place.   The parents could go early and let their children play in the play land with the little train and even tame animals to see and pet.    It has since been torn down and Smith's Marketplace is now located there." -Lucille Burbidge Cheney, East Millcreek Resident

"One of my early, fun childhood memories was swinging on a rope swing over the creek at my neighbor's yard. Being creekside is so beautiful and cool in the summer time. We all loved it and found every opportunity to swing. When we moved back to East Mill Creek, we made sure we had a swing over the creek for our children and grandchildren.  They love it as much as I do." -Cynthia Bourne, East Millcreek Resident

"It's tradition for our family to attend the annual 4th of July parade.  We enjoy seeing hundreds of children on bikes making their way down the parade route on Evergreen Avenue.  Our kids participated in the parade when they were younger.  We usually waited until the night before to start decorating their bikes and wagons.  It's always fun to see the small floats families build together.  Some families even pick a theme year after year and put a lot of time and effort into it." -J. Dazley, East Millcreek Resident
